ChatterPix BadgeChatterpix is a fun, creative way to teach a wide variety of grade levels. I found this tool useful as a teacher to introduce myself to my future second grade class. This is a non-traditional way of introducing myself as a teacher, so I know it will grab my student's attention right off the bat. They will also be able to make Chatterpix creations of their own throughout the year.
Learning Management Systems BadgeI chose to navigate through SeeSaw, which is a learning management system geared towards elementary school teachers. This site simulates a Facebook page for students and allows them to see their progress throughout the year. Parents are also granted access to this site so they can see their kids "posts" throughout the day. Production BadgeFor my production badge I chose to create a presentation using Adobe Spark. Being able to produce elements to support lesson plans is a great way to ensure that your students are getting all the information that they need before jumping into a lesson. My Adobe Spark presentation was gearing towards an introductory lesson for my PBL lesson plan, which is asking students whether or not we should conserve spiders. (See gallery page for full lesson plan)
Instructional Robots BadgeInstructional robots are a resource for many different aspects of teaching. I chose to work with BeeBots, which helps younger students understand how coding works. These robots offer an easy and fun way to practice using code. I used the BeeBots to create a challenge for my students in support of my computational thinking lesson plan. In this lesson plan they had to work together to code their BeeBots to follow a path on a game board in order to save the Minions from a burning building.

Smore BadgeSmore is a helpful site for teaching because its an easy way to send an announcement to students, teachers and/or colleagues. I chose to use Smore as an "open house" for my future students and their families. This flier allowed me to present all the vital information in regards to what, where and when my open house would occur. If any parents had questions, I was even able to put all my contact information to make me accessible.
Board Game BadgeCreating a board game was the most memorable part of my semester. I found that incorporating games into lessons motivates students to learn. This game is titled "Sorry Indiana" and is geared to simulate the game of Sorry. This game was made to support my digital citizenship lesson plan which was to teach students about cyberbullying. Playing Sorry Indiana in support of my lesson plan will really help students get a well rounded understanding of cyberbullying and why students need to stay respectful on the internet.
Hour of Code BadgeCode is a website that gives you an introduction on the ins and outs of coding. The site introduces you to background on computer science, how coding works and its importance in our technological world. I chose to do the Frozen themed hour of code challenge and I found it to be way harder than I expected. I think my future students will benefit from this site since its very interactive and it makes learning a tough topic very tangible!
